Sheryl Garman serves as the Director of Information Technology and Cybersecurity for Merced Union High School District, where she leads systemwide efforts to create secure, innovative, and future-ready learning environments. She guides district initiatives focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the MUHSD 2030 vision, aligning technology with instructional goals and student outcomes.
With a background spanning classroom teaching, library services, instructional coaching, and district leadership, Sheryl brings a unique perspective to technology integration. She has developed student certification pathways, created professional learning systems, and supported large-scale instructional shifts, including distance learning implementation and digital learning design.
Sheryl is a recognized presenter at state and national conferences and a former Google Certified Trainer. Her work focuses on helping schools move from conversation to implementation by building practical frameworks for responsible AI use, strengthening cybersecurity practices, and ensuring students develop critical thinking and real-world skills.
She is passionate about empowering educators and preparing students to navigate an evolving digital world with purpose, responsibility, and confidence.
