About me
Dr. LaRonda L. Ortega is a scholar-practitioner, systems leader, and advocate for equity-centered leadership. With more than two decades of experience in public education, her work focuses on building coherent, human-centered systems that elevate teaching, honor identity, and expand opportunities for historically marginalized communities. Grounded in culturally responsive leadership, reflective coaching, and data-informed practice, she designs frameworks that move beyond compliance toward transformation.
Dr. Ortega earned her doctorate from California State University, Fullerton, where her research amplified the lived experiences of Black women principals navigating leadership at the intersection of race and gender. Her scholarship explores critical reflection, storytelling, and leadership sustainability as tools for leaders working within inequitable systems.
Beyond her professional work, Dr. Ortega enjoys reflective writing and collecting children’s literature. Through her creative interests, she explores bravery, belonging, and joy as acts of resistance and renewal, rooted in the belief that when people are truly seen, systems can change.
