About me
As the Director of Wellness and Engagement for Riverside Unified School District, Dr. Katarina Roy Schanz champions the well-being of every student and employee. Her dedication is deeply rooted in her front-line experience in various classified support positions and as a school counselor, assistant principal, and principal. Today, she spearheads the district’s holistic support system, leading high school wellness centers and overseeing a comprehensive team of therapists and psychologists. A CASEL Fellows Alumni, she drives the successful adoption of SEL and Restorative Practices district-wide. She also serves as adjunct faculty at various schools in administrative and PPS-credentialing courses and is part of the Dean’s advisory board for the School of Behavioral Sciences at California Baptist University.
Dr. Roy Schanz is devoted to helping others lead purpose-filled, meaningful lives and when she takes a pause from that critical work, you'll often find her enjoying time with family or curled up with a good book.
